#BuildInSE’s Ecosystem Curators
Build In SE’s Ecosystem Curator Program is designed for Southeast-based startup community builders to take the next step in their entrepreneur-supporting journey, becoming immersed in the world of venture capital and startups.
A standard week as an Ecosystem Curator includes 0-5 hours committed to:
⟶ Ecosystem research and analysis - providing an overview of your local ecosystem through a written guide, cataloging resources such as people to know, funding opportunities, popular events, and capacity-building programs
⟶ Regional hospitality - acting as a host and connection point for alliance partners and entrepreneurs within the network
⟶ Knowledge sharing - providing overviews of interesting startups from your ecosystem and sharing relevant news/articles
⟶ Ecosystem building - virtual events to foster community across the Southeast
Note: This is a volunteer position, as Build In SE is an entirely volunteer-led organization.
Prior to joining, the ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in any/all of the following:
⟶ Working for a startup in either a full-time, part-time, or intern capacity
⟶ Working or interning for an entrepreneurial support organization, startup service provider, accelerator/incubator, or from a finance or consulting background
⟶ Studying entrepreneurship or another business major as an undergrad or graduate/MBA student
Ideal ecosystem curator candidates have a deep understanding of their local startup ecosystem, knowledge of key stakeholders, and a strong sense of what their city’s secret sauce is for startup innovation.
